1/3 Ron Paul presents “Power to the Jury” At Issue (NEFL)

In this OLD TV SHOW “At Issue” (from The National Endowment For Liberty), Ron Paul is joined by a panel of experts to discuss the power of the jury and to expose the Judge’s dirty little secret. “Jury Nullification” is the power of the Jury to overturn bad laws (of which, we have MANY). It is an important tool guaranteed to citizens serving on jury duty. Jury nullification enables us to declare laws unjust, if we are so inclined. Most Judges do not want you to know about this power. Juries are only told they can rule “guilty” or “not guilty.” They are never told of their third option, “the law is bad.” Shame on bad Judges covering up this power and the corrupt system which allow these arrogant Judges to remain on the bench. Learn your rights and DO NOT try to get out of jury duty. As citizens we only have two real powers to keep the Gov’t in check: 1) The power to vote 2) The power of the jury Your rights: Use them or loose them. With rumors of the American Bar Association working to eliminate juries in the future. And with the PROVEN vulnerability of the electronic voting machines, what voice will we have left? Welcome to Slavery, population: YOU!

The Ecumenical and Interfaith church, Peaceful Assembly Church (860 Main St., Grafton, NH, 03240, 603-523-7111), takes the position that each? and every Juror should be Fully Informed of his and her Rights and Responsibilities, at least in? part because, it is in keeping with the teachings of both Jesus and the Buddha. Those teachings involve both mercy and compassion.
    Peace &? Metta.

  6. CharleyCherokee says:

@MrPtolemysgate You assume that every jury has a thing against the government and will reject laws simply because it’s the government putting us down. Why so little faith in your peers? Furthermore, it’s not intended that one jury should have the power to overturn an unjust law. If a law is unjust and many juries find people innocent of it as an unjust law then we’re getting somewhere. There? are also circumstances where a jury would see the need for mercy. I know I’m a year late to the game.

  7. Leonicdragon says:

1:30 is? the most profound part!

  8. Dragdamar says:

@MrPtolemysgate Sorry, you argument is based solely on your opinion, not logic or case-law. Your obvious fear of your fellow citizens? is down right disgusting. I think you may have a transference disorder.

  9. XanaduZune says:

Yeah I was at jury duty? a few days ago and the cocksucker judge tried to bullshit us and tell us that we can’t judge the law. After I insisted that I would not apply any law that I disagreed with and then some other people said the same, the judge got all upset and made a speach that we have to apply the law. Fuck him! He can’t fool me or pressure me. I know what my rights are!

@challism This? is the one of the good video: please search: “The Law that never was” or “Icon Red Beckman on Alex Jones Tv:”Power of The Jury”pt2″

Grand jury and jury have more power than the president, the Supreme Court justices, congress or whatever!!!
Even you, the US people, you can sue the federal judge!!!!
    Good Luck!!

Those comments did not focus on your person,? but went directly to your previous comments. Instead of continuing to cry foul, why dont you get back to addressing the subject? IE, dispute my version of the original intent of the jury. Since your opinion/fear/distrust of people/jurors certainly rejects said intent, it behooves you to stop distracting and support your opinion with a legitimate basis.

  12. zhuliu says:

Congratulations! You know what “ad hominem” means. Trouble is: my criticism of your OPINION (as “uneducated and bigoted”) and my comment that it reduces your credibility has nothing to do with your PERSON and everything to do with your ARGUMENT (NOT ad hominem).?

  13. zhuliu says:

A “stawman” argument is when you distort my point in order to make it? easier to knock down. Thats exactly what you did. Beyond that, I cant even tell what you are saying.

  14. zhuliu says:

I was only citing prohibition repeal to disprove your claim that “nullification doesn’t result in enduring decisions”. Yes, thats called “A BASIS”! I was NOT citing it to prove that people never use rights for bad ends OR to prove? that all past cases are really relevant to today’s society. Thats because neither of those things are true (or relevant). You simply inserted a couple of strawmen/non-sequiturs in order to distort and distract.

  15. zhuliu says:

Why would I need to resort to ad hominem against someone who rejects such fundamental bases as TCOTUS & rights & the original purpose of juries? With such shameless Statist mentality, you ruin your credibility all by yourself. You talk lots about that which you know little. For example: my characterizing your OPINION as uneducated and? bigoted is NOT ad hominem. Educate yourself better on such logical fallacies before you go accusing them.

  16. zhuliu says:

In? reality, the only “reality” you convey is your own uneducated and bigoted opinion.

  17. zhuliu says:

Again, you only display your ignorance of history. Jury nullification helped repeal alcohol prohibition. The original purpose? of the jury was to be a check on abusive government/laws.

  18. zhuliu says:

You appear to think that laws trump people & rights & the COTUS, show no knowledge of jury-history, display a fear of others exercising their rights, AND foolishly trust lawmakers over those who employ them (the people). Your points have NO constitutional basis and display a? shameful intolerance of others freedom. The only real case against jury nullification is when such ill-informed Americans as you get on juries and decide verdicts!

  19. zhuliu says:

    Whats silly about it?

Whats really? silly is calling something silly without even attempting to explain. Are you afraid of debate? Can you not support your opinion?

  20. PhuqueU says:

Ok, Youtube has totally muted the sound on this video, any time I try to view it.
Probably? because they know I download and burn DVDs for computer challenged elderly.

  21. PhuqueU says:

Wow, at certain times of the? day, Youtube mutes the video.

  22. CanadianBeaver says:

    Peace? and Love!

  23. 358Liberty says:

  24. UEAdmiral says:

Not the A-Team theme, but I hear what you’re? hearing. It is quite similar.

  25. KenMacMillan says:

is? that the A-Team theme? lol
